美式英文(American English) vs. 英式英文(British English)

今天要來談談美式及英式英語的不同，雖然美國人跟英國人彼此能夠互相交流無礙，但在語言的使用上還是有一些極大的差異喔!一起來看看有那些不同吧!

單字

• You take the trash out in the US, but you take the rubbish out in the UK.
• Or you take the elevator in the US, but you take the lift in the UK.

日期及時間

• If it’s September 5, 2016 in the US, it’s 5 September 2016 in the UK.
• In addition, Americans would say that they don’t work on the weekend, while the British would say that they don’t work at the weekend.

拼寫

• 英式英文會使用 ‘u’，例如:honour、colour、favourite 及 labour.
• 美式英文使用theater及center，但英式英文使用theatre and centre。
