Academic & Admissions Lecturer

Job Description

Wordvice, an international English editing company, is seeking academic professionals with experience in areas of research writing and publishing to lead lectures at seminars and workshops. We are currently seeking candidates living in countries in which Wordvice operates: South Korea, Japan, China, Taiwan, and Turkey. Lectures will travel to various institutions around these countries for various events.

Lectures will be given on a variety of academic topics related to research writing, manuscript preparation, the journal submission and publishing process, and more.

Example of seminar/webinar topics might include: “How to Follow-up on a Submission to a Journal,” “How to Avoid Plagiarism in Your Research Paper,” “Common Mistakes Made by Beginning Research Writers,“ “Writing the Methods Section,” etc.

    • Responsibilities

  • Travel to universities and institutions around the country and give lectures on academic topics
  • Prepare necessary lecture content and materials (presentation outlines, scripts, PPTs, etc.)
  • Answer question from the audience about issues related to the lecture topic
  • Provide feedback and instruction (in workshops)

    • Qualifications

    Basic Qualifications
  • Experience writing research papers in the social or natural sciences
  • Experience with the journal submission and/or publication process
  • Previous public speaking/lecturing experience
  • Proficiency in English
  • Education: Master’s degree or higher
    • Preferred Qualifications
  • Extensive lecture and workshop experience
  • Experience in research or journal publication
  • Proficiency in local language of the country
  • Ideal candidates will have one or more of the following positions/experiences :
    • university professor/assistant professor
    • researcher
    • graduate and doctoral student
    • journal editor
    • other academic experts with related experience lecturing/writing about research writing or the journal submissions process

  • Frequency : Contingent on scheduled events (~1-4 lectures per month)
